Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington has been an actor, journalist, philanthropist and author for over ten years. Her role also includes being the owner of The Huffington Post, an independent, liberal online newsmagazine. Following her move from Greece to England from Greece at the age of 16 and obtaining an MA with Economics from Cambridge University. The first ever foreign-born student to serve as president in the famous debate club The Cambridge Union, at 21 years old she took on the role. When she graduated, she made her mark as a conservative syndicated columnist as well as with the introduction of The Huffington Post' few years later, she developed a voice-based website that provided critical views about the current political climate. Her fame and popularity helped in getting several high-profile contributors to share their opinions about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna became famous after she was elected as an independent in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. Alongside this, she led the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. Her name was voted as the most Influential Women in Media by Forbes in 2009, and was awarded 12th position on that list. In the same year Guardian listed her among the top 100 media list. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and she became president of this media group. The acquisition included a number of AOL products at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli is the daughter of Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who both are journalists and consultants in management. Although she had a close relationship with both of her parents, it was their bond which shaped her. In her earliest period, she displayed the qualities of a leader for which are still prominently known. at the age of 16 she relocated back to United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. While in college she was a member of the Cambridge Union's college debating societies where she eventually became its first female and foreign president. In 1972, she graduated with an MA in Economics. Her professional career as an anchor and reporter began after she graduated.
