Selena Gomez
Selena Marie Gomez (/s@'li:n@ "goUmez"/s@'LEE-n@ born on 22 July 1992) is an American actress, singer and producer. Gomez started her acting career in 2002 on the television show for children Barney & Friends. As a teenager she made her name known for her role as Alex Russo on the Disney Channel television series Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012). Gomez was also participant in the television series Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie 2009, Ramona and Beezus (2010) and Spring Breakers 2012, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016). In 2019, she'll be appearing in The Dead Don't Die (2018). Gomez was also the voice of Mavis in Hotel Transylvania's film franchise from 2012-2022. Gomez executive produced the Netflix television series 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020) and Living Undocumented (2019) through her production company, July Moon Productions. Gomez also executive produces and appears in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + chef (2020-2022) and the Hulu mystery comedy series Only Murders in the Building (21-21). The latter series earned Gomez high praise from critics, as well as nominations for the Golden Globe Award, and as a producer and producer, the Primetime Emmy Award .
Gomez released three albums with her former band Selena Gomez & the Scene, all of which reached the top ten of the US Billboard 200 and were certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA): Kiss & Tell (2009), A Year Without Rain (2010), and When the Sun Comes Down (2011). Stars Dance (2013) was her first album released by her solo. Billboard 200, and its lead single "Come and Take It" reached the top 10 spots on the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez's second studio album Revival (2015) which debuted at the top of the charts in the US and was certified platinum by RIAA and was followed by three US top-ten entries: "Good for You", "Same Old Love", "Hands to Myself". The third album of her studio, Rare (2020), has been her third consecutive number one album in the US as well as its top track, "Lose You to Love Me" is her first number-one hit song in the US and Canada. She released Revelacion in Spanish and brought her the Grammy Award nomination for Best Latin Pop Album. She has won many awards like the 2017 Billboard Woman of the year award. Additionally, she broke 15 Guinness World Records. Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people around the globe in 2020. Her social media following is vast and she's the most popular actress and performer on Instagram. Gomez also has ventures in cosmetics, handbags, and perfume. She has been involved with a variety of charitable organizations and served as a UNICEF ambassador since she was 17 years old.
